The 5 ocean zones
found on: main ocean page Β· each coin swims in its zone
Every coin lives in a zone determined by its Greed score. Zones change 4Γ daily as market conditions shift.
| π¦ | SURFACE | G β₯ 90 | Extreme greed. Euphoria, FOMO, late-stage pumps. Historically dangerous territory. |
| π | SHALLOW | G β₯ 70 | High greed. Strong momentum. Market is warm, crowd is optimistic. |
| πͺΌ | MID | G β₯ 50 | Neutral to moderate. No clear extreme. Market digesting or consolidating. |
| π’ | DEEP | G < 50 | Fear territory. Low momentum, capitulation, or quiet accumulation. |
| πͺΈ | GRAVE | β | Collapsed or forgotten projects. Dead coral. ATH drop >95% or volume <$1M/day. |
The Greed Score (G)
found on: every coin card on the main page Β· archive Β· coin history
1 β total fear
50 β neutral
100 β pure greed
Each coin gets a score from 1 to 100 every refresh. It's a composite of market signals β not one indicator, but many weighted together. The score answers: how greedy is the crowd around this coin right now?
4 timeframes β 4 perspectives
| TF | Window | What it reads | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1D | Today | 24h change Β· ATH proximity Β· volume Β· funding | Daily temperature. Reactive to today's moves. |
| 1W | 7 days | RSI on hourly prices Β· range Γ volatility Β· momentum Β· ATH Β· funding | Weekly trend. Filters daily noise. |
| 1M | 30 days | RSI(14) on daily prices Β· range position Β· momentum Β· ATH | Monthly cycle. Where are we in the move? |
| 3M | 90 days | RSI(14) on 90 daily prices Β· range Γ volatility Β· 90d momentum Β· ATH | Cycle position. Are we early, mid or late? |
A coin can be G90 on 1D (hype spike) but only G45 on 3M (long-term context is neutral). The difference between timeframes tells you more than any single one.
Ocean Pulse β the G-index
found on: history page Β· top hero section
The G-index is the market-cap weighted average of all active coins' greed scores. One number β the ocean's overall temperature.
BTC and ETH dominate this number because of their market cap. When BTC is greedy, G rises. When BTC falls, G falls.

Leading indicators β pulse meta
Row 1 β sentiment state Β· found on: history page Β· below the G-index
RSI-G
RSI OF THE G-INDEX
RSI applied to the G-index itself β not price, but sentiment. When RSI-G approaches 75β80, the market's greed is saturated. Reversals often follow. When below 30, sentiment is exhausted on the downside.
EMAβ
5-DAY MOVING AVERAGE OF G
Smoothed G-index over 5 days. Filters the noise of daily swings. If G is above EMAβ
β momentum up. If G is below β trend cooling. The gap between G and EMAβ
shows how fast sentiment is moving.
β/β /7d
VELOCITY β G CHANGE OVER 7 DAYS
How much has G moved in 7 days? +15 means greed accelerated. β10 means it decelerated. A high G with near-zero velocity means the move is stalling β deceleration at highs is a classic warning pattern.
Row 2 β market structure Β· found on: history page Β· second meta line
EW +/-
EQUAL-WEIGHT DIVERGENCE
Difference between equal-weight G (simple average of all coins) and cap-weight G (BTC/ETH dominant). EW +8 = the average alt is greedier than BTC. EW β5 = BTC greedier than the average alt. Note: this is about greed levels, not price dominance β for true rotation see BTC.D below.
Hi %ββ
BREADTH HIGH β % COINS IN SURFACE + SHALLOW
What % of all active coins are in extreme greed. G=70 with Hi=15% is narrow (1-2 coins pulling). G=70 with Hi=55% is broad euphoria. Arrow shows if this % is growing or shrinking vs 7 days ago.
Lo %
BREADTH LOW β % COINS IN DEEP
What % of coins are in fear. High Lo% with low G = broad capitulation. Low Lo% with high G = few coins are lagging β healthy bull structure.
Rgm +/-
REGIME CONTEXT β G vs 30-DAY AVERAGE
How far is today's G from its own 30-day average? Rgm +14 = overheated relative to recent normal. Rgm β8 = cooler than recent normal. Same G score means different things in different regimes β this shows the context.
β DIV
PRICE vs G DIVERGENCE (contrarian)
Markets are contrarian β so this reads the opposite of the obvious.
β L bull β price ROSE over 7 days but greed FELL (strength met with skepticism, no euphoria). Backtested on BTC+ETH (5y), this precedes further upside (β61-67% win at 30d vs ~53% baseline).
β B bear β price FELL but greed ROSE (complacency in weakness, no capitulation). Historically precedes more downside. Needs a real move: price β₯3% and G β₯4 pts in 7 days.

OI %
OPEN INTEREST β FUTURES LEVERAGE
Where current BTC/ETH futures open interest sits vs its 30-day range. OI 80%+ π΄ = leverage near a 30-day high (crowded, fragile). OI 20%- π’ = leverage washed out. Blended lightly into the 1M and 3M index (a nudge, not a driver), not the daily.
Stbl
CAPITAL FLOW β STABLECOIN DOMINANCE
% of total market cap parked in stablecoins (USDT, USDCβ¦). Falling π’ = reserves draining into risk (risk-on). Rising π΄ = capital fleeing to safety (fear). The 7-day arrow shows whether "dry powder" is entering or leaving the market.
π US
US SESSION β WALL STREET'S EFFECT
How the G-index moved while US markets traded (β14:00β21:00 UTC), weekdays only. US +5 = the Wall Street session warmed crypto greed; US β5 = it cooled it. Crypto increasingly tracks US equities β this isolates that window. Blank on weekends and holidays.
BTC.D
BITCOIN DOMINANCE β TRUE PRICE ROTATION
BTC's share of total crypto market cap (source: CoinGecko). The absolute % differs slightly across sources (TradingView, CMC) because each measures against a different coin universe β what matters is the trend. The 7-day arrow shows rotation: β falling = capital flowing into alts (broadening); β rising = flight to BTC (concentration). Unlike EW, this is pure price/market-cap β unaffected by how far coins sit from their ATH.

What this is NOT
Important
β None of these signals tell you when to buy or sell.
β A high G score does not mean the price will fall. It means sentiment is elevated.
β A low G score does not mean the price will rise. It means sentiment is depressed.
β DIV bear is not a sell signal. It's an observation about diverging signals.
β RSI-G at 80 does not mean the top is in. Markets can stay irrational longer than expected.
β This is not financial advice. It is temperature reading.
What Greedwatch gives you is context. A framework for understanding where crowd emotion sits right now β historically, relatively, and structurally. What you do with that context is entirely your own judgment.
